Amazing Cultural Evening

Tonight my kids and I attended Primera Gala de Ballet, a fabulous ballet performance at the Teatro de la Ciudad in La Paz.  The performance was sponsored by the State of Baja California Sur in honor of the centennial anniversary of the Mexican revolution.  This helped keep ticket prices ridiculously low, as in 50 pesos each (about $4!).  It was truly a world class performance, perhaps one of the best I've ever seen, featuring top soloists from the national ballet company, INBA (Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes).  Danielle and I found it incredibly inspiring; Harrison tolerated it (while continuing to be dumbfounded that we paid only the face value for the scalped tickets we got for a sold-out show).  There is something so fulfilling for me when I experience dance performances.  It's the beauty and athleticism, I think, that leave an impression.  I had a smile on my face for the entire performance.

  1. Glad you are taking advantage of some of the culture in La Paz - and a bargain at that too. Ballet happens to be one of my favorite events to attend because of what you said as well as the music...ENJOY!
